A252 Seamless&Welded Pipe Piles
Product Introduction
ASTM A252 is a standard specification covering seamless and welded steel pipe piles. Unlike standard piping used for fluid transport, these pipes are specifically engineered for deep foundation support in construction and civil engineering. They serve as structural columns to transfer building loads through unstable soil to solid bedrock or compacted earth. A252 piles are available in both round and cylindrical shapes and are manufactured to strict dimensional tolerances to ensure structural integrity under heavy vertical and lateral loads.

Product Features
Structural Strength & Durability: Designed to withstand the rigors of driving (hammering) into the ground, A252 piles offer high yield strength and toughness. They act as permanent load-bearing members or as shells for cast-in-place concrete piles.
Versatile Manufacturing: Available in both Seamless and Welded (typically Electric Resistance Welded or Spiral Welded) forms. This allows engineers to select the most appropriate pipe type based on soil conditions and load requirements.
Distinct Grades: The specification defines three grades to suit different strength needs:
Grade 1: Minimum Yield Strength of 30,000 psi (205 MPa).
Grade 2: Minimum Yield Strength of 35,000 psi (240 MPa) — The most common grade for general construction.
Grade 3: Minimum Yield Strength of 45,000 psi (310 MPa) — Used for heavy-duty applications requiring higher load capacity.
Driving Performance: The pipe ends are often reinforced or specially finished (plain or beveled) to prevent damage during the pile driving process.
Product Applications
Deep Foundations: The primary use is as structural piles for the foundations of skyscrapers, bridges, and heavy industrial facilities.
Retaining Walls: Used as soldier piles in sheet pile walls to retain earth in excavations and waterfront structures.
Marine Structures: Utilized in the construction of docks, piers, and jetties where piles must be driven into the seabed.
Highway Infrastructure: Essential for supporting bridge abutments and highway overpasses in areas with poor soil conditions.
Tie-backs & Anchors: Used as ground anchors to stabilize retaining walls and prevent landslides.
