Advance Pipe, often referred to as self-drilling pipe, is a specialized drilling tool used in geotechnical engineering. It is a hollow, threaded steel pipe that combines drilling, casing, and grouting functions into a single operation. The system consists of a drill bit at the leading end, the advance pipe sections (which act as both drill rods and permanent casing), and a coupling sleeve. As the pipe is drilled into the ground, it simultaneously installs a permanent steel casing to support the borehole, preventing collapse in unstable soil or rock formations.
