TC11 Titanium Alloy Bar
TC11 Titanium Alloy Bar
TC11 Titanium Alloy Bar is a high-performance α+β type heat-resistant titanium alloy manufactured in accordance with Chinese national standards GB/T 3620.1 and GB/T 2965. With its nominal composition of Ti-6.5Al-3.5Mo-1.5Zr-0.3Si, TC11 is one of the most widely used high-temperature titanium alloys in China's aerospace and aviation industries, holding a comparable position to the Russian BT9 alloy in international markets.
Chemical Composition (Typical, wt%)
| Element | Content (%) |
|---|---|
| Titanium (Ti) | Balance |
| Aluminum (Al) | 5.5 – 7.0 |
| Molybdenum (Mo) | 2.0 – 4.0 |
| Zirconium (Zr) | 1.5 – 2.5 |
| Silicon (Si) | 0.1 – 0.5 |
| Iron (Fe) | ≤ 0.3 |
| Oxygen (O) | ≤ 0.15 |
| Carbon (C) | ≤ 0.08 |
| Nitrogen (N) | ≤ 0.05 |
| Hydrogen (H) | ≤ 0.015 |
The aluminum equivalent of 3.5 and molybdenum equivalent of 7.3 provide TC11 with an optimized α/β phase balance, delivering exceptional thermal stability and mechanical performance.
Key Properties & Advantages
Excellent High-Temperature Strength: Maintains reliable mechanical properties at service temperatures up to 500°C (long-term) and 550°C (short-term exposure), making it ideal for turbine engine components operating under sustained thermal stress.
Superior Creep & Fatigue Resistance: Demonstrates stable fatigue behavior under cyclic loading and outstanding creep resistance at elevated temperatures, critical for rotating aero-engine parts.
Good Weldability & Processability: Offers superior weldability compared to Ti-6Al-4V, with fewer heat-affected zone defects. Compatible with various welding, forging, rolling, and precision machining processes, including hot extrusion and CNC turning.
Outstanding Corrosion Resistance: Performs reliably in oxidizing environments, seawater, moist chlorine gas, and acidic media, ensuring durability in marine and chemical processing applications.
Typical Mechanical Properties
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Tensile Strength | ≥ 1,100 MPa |
| Yield Strength (0.2%) | ≥ 1,000 MPa |
| Elongation at Break | ≥ 8% |
| Elastic Modulus | ~110 GPa |
| Density | ~4.48 g/cm³ |
Primary Applications
TC11 titanium bars are predominantly utilized in the manufacture of critical rotating and structural components for aero-engines, including:
Compressor discs, blades, drums, and shafts
Turbine engine casings and high-temp brackets
Aerospace structural fittings
Marine engineering components
High-performance pressure vessels and industrial equipment
In the annealed condition, TC11 components are rated for 500 hours at 500°C, 100 hours at 550°C, or 1,000 hours at 450°C. In the strengthened condition, the alloy can withstand 100 hours at 500°C and single-use exposure up to 700°C.
